About the Event
By late November, Rangiora's footpaths start filling up. Chairs appear early. Kids claim their spot on the kerb β or a shoulder, if they're lucky enough to have tall parents. Then the first float turns the corner, and the whole street lifts.
The Rangiora Toyota Santa Parade brings together local schools, sports clubs, community groups and businesses β all dressed up and ready to show their bit of Christmas. A ute buried in tinsel. A marching group in full costume. A local crew who've clearly been planning this for months. You never quite know what's coming next, and that's exactly the point.
Music drifts down the street. Children crane for a better look. The crowd gets louder as the procession builds β because everyone knows what comes last. When Santa's sleigh rounds that final corner, the cheer from the footpath is one of those sounds that marks Christmas in Rangiora as well as anything.
Rangiora Toyota's long-running support keeps the parade free and open to everyone. Find your spot along the route, bring the kids, and watch Rangiora do Christmas properly.
